This project is currently under construction on S. Lamar near Riverside next door to the Taco Cabana

Additional info from the City of Austin's August Emerging Projects Report:

Dallas-based CLB Partners LLC, developers of the Austin City Lofts, recently broke ground on a six-story condominium building with 105 condominiums, an outdoor pool, courtyards and 9,000 square feet of street-level retail. The Paggi House restaurant, housed in a 160-year-old building, will be incorporated into the project. Units will cost from the upper $200,000s for an 850-square-foot unit to about $550,000 for 1,650 square feet.

More info from the Tribble & Stephens website.

Here is the rendering.

This looks very kind of early 1970s. I hope they change the color of the brick. Thank goodness it's not a high-rise.

Thanks for posting that, I had been looking for the rendering of it. This won't be all that tall, maybe only around 75 feet or so. Austin City Hall is 65 feet.

I drove by this today, and I noticed that a crane is going up for this project. I was a little surprised, as this project is only going to be six floors.

Yep, I was downtown Wednesday and they were putting the crane together. I got a few shots of the crane construction.

I'm kind of excited about this project. It'll be interesting to see how it looks there. I think these small projects like these will help to curb people's attitudes that only downtown is a place for tall buildings. Although, I think it'll only be around 70 feet tall or so.
